Mick Gallagher - Managing Partner

Mick Gallagher has a significant background and interest in the Life Science arena.  As CEO of LST, formerly known as LifeSci Technologies, Mick has been involved in numerous consulting engagements with Life Science firms in Southern California helping them to improve their business processes in the areas of Proteinomics, Cheminformatics, Bioinformatics, and Clinical ( 21CFR part 11) compliance.

Prior to becoming CEO of LST, Mick helped pioneer the vertical life science market for Oracle Corporation.  Additionally, Mick has 22 years experience working with Japanese companies in the technology sector.  As Vice President of International for Toshiba Corporation, Mick held P&L responsibility for 27 countries, which included the implementation of Global Business Practices.

Under Mick's leadership, the LST team does business with more than 130 Life Science related firms in the Southern California marketplace, in addition to companies in the financial services, distribution and software sectors.

In addition to his daily involvement running LST, Mick shares his vision and experience with several other companies where he sits on the Board of Directors.  Mick is a Director and former Board Chairman of LINC (LifeScience Council of Orange County), Member of the Business Advisory Board for the Rady School of Management/UCSD, on the Board of Advisors for Murgent, Director for xNet and previous member of the Science & Technology group for BioCom San Diego.  Mick is also an active member in OCVG (Orange County Venture Group).

Stephen Vaught - Managing Partner

A native of Southern California, Stephen attended UCLA where he majored in Economics & Finance. After graduation Stephen spent several years in the financial services industry before joining Oracle Corporation where he excelled at selling technology software. Having joined LST in 2003, Stephen brings a wealth of experience from both the financial services and business software markets. It is this experience that enables Stephen to assist his clients in making sound, yet cost effective, decisions when it comes to choosing the right solution to run their business.

AJ Michalewicz – Managing Partner

AJ has more than 30 years experience in IT, computer technology, infrastructure, and software implementation. Before joining LST, AJ spent 8 years as Segment CIO for Cardinal Health where he was responsible for the computer infrastructure, networks, security, and software of 7 Cardinal group companies. While there, AJ led the implementation of an Oracle ERP system encompassing all areas of Finance, Manufacturing and e-business across all business units.

Prior to Cardinal, AJ spent 13 years at Digital Equipment Corporation where he held worldwide responsibility for the technical marketing of all hardware and software. Before Digital, AJ spent 4 years at Sacred Heart University as the Chairman of the Department of Computer Science. AJ’s long history within technology enables him to bring a wealth of experience, best practices, and proven implementation methodologies to clients of LST.

Rufus Lohmueller – Managing Partner

Rufus Lohmueller understands the business of business. Prior to joining LST, he was the Founder / President of Lohmueller and Associates, Inc. (LOHMUELLER). As a 20-year veteran to entrepreneurship, Rufus has successfully owned, operated and grown Lohmueller: a firm specializing in optimizing business performance through the utilization of the right software. From corporate professional to successful entrepreneur, Rufus’ experience translates into a powerful tool for his clients. Twenty years of business evaluation means he is extremely skilled and proficient at analyzing how a company is managed, diagnosing weaknesses and optimizing solutions to fill gaps.

Rufus began his career at Ernst & Whinney in the public accounting sector where he began to recognize that other aspects of professional life were more interesting to him and launched Lohmueller.

Lohmueller accolades included two consecutive years listing as Accounting Technologies TrailBlazer / PaceSetters, a Diamond Level ACCPAC Solution Provider, NetSuite Partner of the Year in 2003, NetSuite Star Partner 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2006.

A native of Raleigh, NC, Rufus holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Judy Lohmueller – Managing Partner

Prior to joining the management team at LST, Judy served as Vice President of Lohmueller and Associates, Inc. (LOHMUELLER) for 10 years.  Lohmueller provided business process optimization and diagnosis and pre-sales, sales, training and ongoing support for business management software tools.

She led the firm’s business development, training programs, marketing, customer relation management and operations.  Her unique leadership qualities and personable approach is critical to hundreds of successful partnerships – both internally and with clients. Judy’s ability to combine innovation, strategic direction and a genuine entrepreneurial spirit allows the experience with Lohmueller to be natural and dynamic.
